'Penny Dreadful' Season 2 Teaser Trailer Video Released: 'A Curse and A Blessing'

Once again, the fans of the hit gothic-horror TV series "Penny Dreadful" were clamoring for the latest teaser released by Showtime this week for the show's upcoming second season.

The 43-second short trailer was just enough to whet the appetite of eagerly-awaiting viewers. It revealed clips of the show's beloved characters as they progress in the story.

"The time came when I learned that a curse was also something of a blessing," Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) said.

"I learned to make use of the gifts I had been given," she continued. "Will you do the same?"

The footage opens up with Vanessa walking towards a window. Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) was also shown staring at a disheveled bar, which as fans speculated, could be his own doing when he transformed into a werewolf. This clip suggests that the upcoming season will likely resume to where it ended in the first season wherein two fellows attempted to "return" Ethan back to his father.

The ravishing Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney) was also featured gazing at a photograph of Vanessa. He's probably contemplating the latter's rejection of his advances.

The video exploded in a scene when Vanessa falls down to her knees in a snow-covered ground. She then stretches out her hand in what appears to be a motion to ward off some supernatural forces.

Victor Frankenstein's (Harry Treadaway) creation was also featured in the clip.

In related news, ComicBookMovie.com reported that on New Year's Eve, Showtime will be running a "Penny Dreadful" marathon. All eight episodes will be aired starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

"Penny Dreadful" Season 2 will return with its premiere episode in 2015 and it will be comprised with 10 episodes.
