'Penny Dreadful' Season 2 News, Spoilers: Dr. Frankenstein Asks Vanessa A Favor in A Sneak Peek, Episode Synopsis Revealed

This coming Sunday will see the airing of yet another intriguing and chilling episode of the second season on Showtime's hit gothic-horror TV drama series "Penny Dreadful."

Titled "Evil Spirits in Heavenly Places," a synopsis for the upcoming segment was posted by TV Guide and it mentions that Lyle (Simon Russell Beale) will reveal to everyone that the Verbis Diablo relics "tell a very dark and disturbing story" which directly affects Vanessa Ives (Eva Green).

Meanwhile, the investigation for the recent attack in Mariner's Inn continues as Inspector Rusk (Douglas Hodge) interviews the lone survivor of that night's incident.

The summary went on to tell that Evelyn's (Helen McCrory) daughter, Hecate (Sarah Greene) will get closer to Ethan (Josh Hartnett) while Angelique (Jonny Beauchamp) and Dorian's (Reeve Carney) romantic relationship continues to grow.

To further heighten the excitement, the cable network released a sneak peek for this week's episode and it featured a brief conversation between Vanessa and Dr. Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) as the latter makes his way out from Sir Malcom's (Timothy Dalton) home.

The two characters talked about the possibility of the impossibility. At the end of it, Victor called out to Vanessa to ask for "a personal favor." Miss Ives gladly accepts.

As to what this favor could be, it remains to be seen. However, fans were quick to speculate that this could relate to Victor's recent creation, Brona (Billie Piper) a.k.a Lily whom he resurrected out from the demand of Caliban/John Clare (Rory Kinnear).

Fans may remember that the then-sickly Brona was once Ethan's love interest back at Mariner's Inn.

"Penny Dreadful" Season 2 airs every Sunday at 10 p.m. on Showtime.
