'Penny Dreadful' season 3 cast news: New characters introduced

The third season of "Penny Dreadful" is expected to receive new additions to the cast.

It was reported by Movie News Guide that the season will feature Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde. Executive producer of the series, John Logan, hinted at the new character introductions. He said, "I can tell you this and this is such a tease, and I am sorry for it — but after two years I am finally adding another famous literary character. It's been fun going into another writer's brain and bringing one of those great characters back into our world." He also shared that season 3 will be exploring a new part of the world that will portray characters in a new light.

The previous season ended with a surprise when Ethan, played by Josh Harnett, killed Evelyn, played by Helen McCory. After that, Ethan decided to surrender himself to Rush, even with Vanessa's (Eva Green) offer to run away. With that, it was hinted that their relationship will see a romantic turn, especially since they are now both in the same page. Logan shared, "They're fascinating characters for me, and they're both in a very dark and desolate place and have been for a long time. The idea of two characters in need coming together and trying to find some grace or some lightness in the various curses that surround them was obviously very interesting. Plus Eva and Josh are just very good together."

While Logan also commented on the on-screen chemistry between Ethan and Vanessa, he also added that Dorian Grey and Hecate might also move forward into a romantic relationship for the upcoming season.
The title of the upcoming premiere episode was also revealed on the official Twitter account of producer Christopher King. The first episode of the season is speculated to be titled "The Day Tennyson Died."

Penny Dreadful season 3 is expected to premiere on 2016.
