Percy Jackson 3 'The Titan's Curse' Movie Release Date, Rumors Update

The talks for the next installment of the Percy Jackson series "Percy Jackson: Titan's Curse" still thrive on in the hearts of its fans. Here's an update we heard:

A report from the movie's fan blogsite PercyJacksonMovies.com cited a certain "Patrick." This PJM fan is a self-professed avid follower of both the novels by author Rick Riordan and the movie franchise. His keen interest to the fiction led him to pen a number of scripts for "Titan's Curse." His fan fiction was featured and heavily discussed in several other fan sites online.

Earlier this week, Patrick once again shared a rough draft for Titan's Curse which he put under the working title "Percy Jackson & The Titan's Curse Treatment."

In that rather long email, he discussed piece by piece the whole scenario of his proposed sequel.

He mentioned the arrival of a "mysterious figure," later found to be Percy Jackson, on a "boarding school by the sea, on a cliff."

Jackson's purpose of the visit is to find the school's two students, named Bianca and Nico. He needs them to come to Camp Half-Blood with him "to help stop an impending battle between the Gods and Titans, as they could prove beneficial in support."

An incident happened which caused Percy and newfound crew to battle against a group of Laistrygonian giants disguised as dodge ball varsities. The encounter further revealed that Nico has the power to cause earthquakes. The other companion still has to discover her powers.

On the note parts, Patrick stated that the movie is meant to sort of "wrap up" the first two movies "ala Toy Story 3 and X-Men: Days of Future Past."

"I should also say that the main reason WHY I so desperately want another movie is to tie up the cliffhanger and other loose ends of SoM and have a (at least mostly) complete storyline in the films. So therefore, we do not need another cliffhanger, especially if this movie does bomb," Patrick explained.

Previous reports already indicated that the sequel may never happen. An interview with MTV.com had lead character actor Logan Lerman saying that "It's not happening."

"It's been a great experience for me. It's opened up a lot of doors for me, but I don't think its happening," the actor confirmed.

Other media outlets also said that Fox had most likely shelved the project "momentarily" and that the studio is waiting for the right moment to revive the franchise, "whether as a sequel or a reboot."
