Percy Jackson 3 May Never Happen
For fans of the young adult movie franchise "Percy Jackson," this year seem to be a fruitless one when news came in that the most awaited sequel "Peter Jackson: The Titan's Curse" won't be hitting the big screens any time soon.
The confirmation came right from the titular character actor, Logan Lerman, who in multiple social media accounts stated that the development for the third film will not be moving forward.
"It's not happening," the "Fury" actor was quoted as saying during an interview with MTV.com, "It's been a great experience for me. It's opened up a lot of doors for me, but I don't think its happening."
Several fan sites including the Tumblr site PercyJacksonMovies indicated that the actor may not know the current status of the film project.
As said by the website, Lerman's acting contract spans up to three movies. Although the first two films met modest success in the box office, it appears that 20th Century Fox executives are having some doubts in giving the purported third installment the green light.
JBGNews.com speculated that Fox most likely has shelved the project momentarily and is waiting for the right moment to realize it, whether as a sequel or a reboot.
Nonetheless, it has been reported that "Percy Jackson 3" is expected to adapt the novel "The Titan's Curse." The story would find Percy and his friends setting out on a mission to rescue a Greek goddess.
The book itself has won multiple best seller awards and is considered to be one of the best in the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan.
