Peter Lanza Meets With Newtown Victim's Parents (VIDEO)

It's been three months since 20 first-graders were killed in a massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School. One of the victim's parents have met with shooter Adam Lanza's father, Peter, in order to gain a sense of closure over the loss of their daughter.

"I felt strongly that I needed to tell him something, and I needed to get that out of my system," Alissa Parker told "CBS This Morning." Her daughter, Emilie, was one of those who died in the massacre; she was only six years old. "I felt very motivated to do it and then I felt really good about it and prayed about it. And it was something that I needed to do."

She and her husband Robbie met with Adam Lanza's father, Peter, in private. They reportedly spoke about Adam's mental health and his relationships with his mother, whom he murdered, and Peter. Neither side has revealed exactly what was said nor whether anyone received the closure they were seeking.

"She was beautiful. She was blonde; she was always smiling," Robbie told CBS. "I'm so blessed to be her dad."

Lanza went on a 5-minute shooting spree at the school and managed to fire 152 bullets. He shot his way into the school, then immediately shot the principal and guidance counselor before making his way around to several classrooms.

20 students and six faculty members were killed in the shooting, and Lanza took his own life before police could take him into custody. It was later discovered that Lanza killed his mother, Nancy, before going to the school where she worked.

Peter Lanza issued a statement soon after it was discovered that his son was responsible for the murders.

"Our hearts go out to the families and friends who lost loved ones and to all those who were injured. Our family is grieving along with all those who have been affected by this enormous tragedy. No words can truly express how heartbroken we are. We are in a state of disbelief and trying to find whatever answers we can. We too are asking why," Lanza said.

The full interview with Alissa and Robbie Parker will air on CBS' "This Morning" on Friday, March 22.
