The Philadelphia Eagles will play the Washington Redskins on Sunday in Week 11 of the NFL 2013 regular season in a big NFC East match up. The Eagles have managed to pull themselves tied for the top of the division, but they still have a lot of work to do if they are to take the title and make the playoffs. Today's game will start at 1 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The Eagles are on 5-5 having defeated the Oakland Raiders 49-20 and the Green Bay Packers 27-13 in recent weeks. That has pulled them up alongside the stumbling Dallas Cowboys at the top of the NFC East.
The Eagles have been fantastic on the rush this season and rank 2nd in the NFL with 153.1 yards on the rush per game. That has helped them to gain a 4th ranked offense in total yards gained per game, where they are posting 413.4 yards per game. However, the Eagles have not been solely reliant on the rush, but are also ranked 9th in the league for pass, claiming 260.3 yards per game in the air.
Meanwhile, the Redskins have had a tough season and are now the basement team in the weak NFC East, tied bottom with the New York Giants on 3-6. However, despite their bad record, they are not too far behind the leading teams in the division, who are just at .500. That means any type of good run now would see them potentially get within touching distance of their rivals, and it will be games like this within their division that may prove telling come the end of the season.
The Redskins claimed a good win against the San Diego Chargers in Week 9, defeating them 30-24, however, they fell last week against the Minnesota Vikings 27-34, and they will be desperate to bounce back immediately this week.
If they are to win today though they have got to give Robert Griffin III more protection. He has been hit far too often and far too hard in recent weeks, and if they don't give him more time on the ball and more protection they could lose their star quarterback to injury. RGIII is 205 of 337 for 2,450 yards and 12 touchdowns.
