Phoenix Suns NBA Trade Rumors: Suns Unlikely to Trade Eric Bledsoe

The Phoenix Suns have been busy stockpiling young talent and draft picks in the past few years and it's clear they want to build around their core of young players. With this in mind, observers have been wondering if guard Eric Bledsoe is part of this core. Where does he fit in their plans for the future?

Bledsoe is only 27, however, he happens to be one of the veterans of the team. He is also the Suns' biggest trade chip because of his offensive skills and sheer athleticism. The Suns know that a lot of teams will give Bledsoe a long look if he's available on the trade market, but they may not want to trade him right now.

In an interview with AZCentral Sports, Suns general manager Ryan McDonough said Bledsoe was "one of the least likely guys on the roster to get traded."

"In terms of his work ethic and his buy-in to what we're trying to do organizationally, he's been off the charts. He's made Phoenix his offseason home. It means a lot to him to be a Sun. I never say 'never' — we're not at the point where we have any untouchable players or take anything completely off the board — but I think it's very unlikely to see anything with Eric," McDonough stated during the interview with AZCentral Sports.

Meanwhile, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical said the Suns have been shopping P. J. Tucker, Tyson Chandler and Brandon Knight before the deadline. It appears that they are looking to acquire draft picks and young players in exchange for the three.

Reports said the Boston Celtics were interested in Tucker, and Chandler was reportedly being targeted by the Portland Trail Blazers before they acquired Jusuf Nurkic. Knight is the odd name on the list because he's only 25 and he still has a bright future ahead of him.

The Suns have yet to make a move, but that may change in the days ahead.
