As expected, the Spurs are holding the lead in the Southwest Division and are comfortably ahead of their group rivals - the Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans.

Their style of play is only one indication that they are possibly the team to beat in the NBA.

On the other hand, the Suns are having difficulty getting wins as they are fourth in the Pacific Division.

Behind teams like the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento Kings, the only reason the Suns are not last in the group is that the Los Angeles Lakers are going through a serious rebuilding state that they are unable to get wins.

San Antonio's dominance over the Suns has been evident in their first two meetings of the season.

In their first clash, the Spurs opened up with a three point lead in the first quarter and stretched it to 10 by halftime.

The Suns were only able to cut it down to seven at the end of the third quarter but the Spurs regained the momentum to win comfortably 98-84.

In their second battle, the game was even more one-sided as the Spurs opened up a 20-point lead after the first 12 minutes and never looked back. They were never outscored in any quarter to eventually win 112-79.
