'Pitch Perfect 2' Release Date, News: Bellas Perform Beyonce Hit Song in New Trailer

The Bellas are back as "Pitch Perfect 2" releases its second official trailer a few weeks before the film's premiere.

"We are coming to you live from the nation's capital, where the Barden University Bellas are performing for the President of the United States on his birthday," says International Championship of Collegiate A Capella commentator Gail, played by director Elizabeth Banks.

The curtain opens, and Fat Amy is seen in a harness singing Miley Cyrus's hit, "Wrecking Ball." However, the Bellas' triumph is short lived when Fat Amy has a wardrobe malfunction while suspended in the air. She accidentally flashes the crowd, and this leads to the Bellas being suspended from competing.

Gail tells the girls that they will be replaced by the European champions, The Sound Machine. Becca asks John and Gail, "If we win the World Championships, will you reinstate us?" This causes the two to dissolve in a fit of giggles as no American team has ever won the competition.

The Bellas have a sleepover, and as it's Becca's and the other girls' final year on the team, Becca says, "When I look back on this, I won't remember performing or competing. I'm gonna remember you weirdos." Everyone is tearful and agrees that they will too.

At the competition, Fat Amy tells everyone, "Guys, there's gonna be some haters out there. They're gonna look at us, Team USA, and be like, 'Why is the most talented one Australian?'"

While the Germans dismiss them as a "heated mess, the girls give a fierce rendition of Beyonce's girl power anthem, "Run the World (Girls)".

Original "Pitch Perfect" cast members Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp and Hana Mae Lee return for the sequel. Joining them is Academy Award nominee Hailee Steinfeld as Emily. Skylar Astin and Ben Platt also reprise their roles as Jesse and magic maker Benji, along with Bumper (Adam Devine).

"Pitch Perfect 2" hits theaters on May 15.
