'Pitch Perfect 2' Release Date, Spoilers: Increased Drama, Additional Cast Members!

"Pitch Perfect 2," the sequel to the successful musical comedy film by Jason Moore, will have more drama, exciting scenes, and much bigger performances, according to reports.

In a recent interview with Teen Vogue, cast member Ben Platt, who played the nerdy character Benji Applebaum, dished out some information on what the fans can expect in the upcoming sequel.

"Pitch Perfect 2 is about the Bellas and what happens to them as they get older," the 21-year-old star revealed. "All of your favorite characters are coming back" but it will even be more exciting with the coming of additional cast members, he added.

"Chrissie Fit was great and Hailee Steinfeld is such a pro -- she fit right in. I had no idea she was 17! She's the most mature girl ever. I did most of my scene work with her, which was scary because she was the only one I didn't already know, but we had the best time together," Platt continued.

Other sources indicated that since part two has been given a bigger budget, there will be a lot more performances during the film.

Other cast members Skylar Astin, who plays Jesse Swanson, and Anna Camp, who plays Aubrey Posen, also gave their take on "Pitch Perfect 2."

"Round two is lots of dancing and singing," Camp told the Belfast Telegraph, while Astin added that it could also mean more a capella performances.

Lead star Anna Kendrick, who plays Beca Mitchell, will have a stunt scene.

"There is a point [in Pitch Perfect 2] when I am at a great height and have to jump, and it was actually totally terrifying and took me like three takes to even jump. Even thinking about it right now makes my stomach turn," the 29-year-old actress told People magazine.

The plot will deal with a slightly older cast than the previous film as well.

"All I can say right now is that they will be graduating seniors this time around, rather than incoming freshmen," producer Elizabeth Banks told the HuffingtonPost.

"Pitch Perfect 2" is slated for release May 15, 2015.
