'Pitch Perfect 3' Latest News: Rebel Wilson Confirms Third Installment
While the highly anticipated sequel to the hit 2012 musical comedy film "Pitch Perfect," is yet to arrive in theaters next month, a recent report indicated that a third installment is already in the works.
Franchise cast member Rebel Wilson confirmed the news. The actress, who plays Fat Amy, reportedly told Los Angeles Times correspondent Amy Kaufman that she has already signed on for a "Pitch Perfect 3."
"News: Rebel Wilson just told me there will be a 3rd @PitchPerfect and she recently signed on to be in it! (She doesn't know abt Kendrick)," Kaufman's Twitter post reads.
There's no word yet if Wilson's co-star, Anna Kendrick, will once again join the film production to take on the integral role of the once reclusive and rebellious character named Beca Mitchell.
Fans, however, should take things a bit slower as it was previously said by Universal Co-President of Production Peter Cramer that the fate of PP3 lies on how PP2 does this summer.
"We're definitely starting to think about it but we don't know specifically what it would be just yet," Cramer informed Entertainment Weekly in January.
For the meantime, "Pitch Perfect 2" is slated to open in cinemas this May 15 and will once again feature actresses Skylar Astin as Jesse Swanson, Brittany Snow as Chloe Beale, Ester Dean as Cynthia-Rose Adams, and Anna Camp as Aubrey Posen.
Mark Mothersbaugh, who is known for his works with "The Lego Movie" and on the upcoming "The Last Man on Earth," was hired to compose the soundtrack of the film.
