PlayStation Plus September 2014 Free Games List: Velocity 2X, Sportfriends, Joe Danger

The Playstation Plus service is a paid-subscription plan similar to Microsoft's Xbox Gold service. Much like Xbox Gold, the Playstation Plus offers free game downloads to it's subscribers as well as added benefits.

Playstation Plus offers early and exclusive beta access and demos to some games, automatic updates to the game and to system software updates, as well as free downloadable games for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and the PSVita.

For the month of September, Sony is offering the following games for free to Playstation Plus subscribers:

"Velocity 2X" for the PlayStation 4
"Joe Danger" for the PSVita
"Sportsfriends" for the PlayStation 4
"TxK" for the PSVita
"Hoard" for the PlayStation 3
"Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale" for the PlayStation 3

The offer is exclusive to Playstation Plus subscribers only. Users may opt to subscribe to the Playstation Plus service and purchase either the one-year or three-month subscription plan.

The service also offers discounted titles up for download. For a full list of the titles, refer to Sony's Playstation Store official site but below are some of the included titles for September:

"EA Sports UFC" at 30% off
"Alice: Madness Returns Ultimate Edition" at 10% off
"Army of TWO The Devil's Cartel" at 30% off
"Battlefield 3" at 30% off

The PlayStation Plus service was first unveiled during the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2010 by Jack Tretton, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America or SCEA for short.

The Playstation Network or PSN is an online multiplayer gaming and a digital media delivery service used by Sony Computer Entertainment. It's mostly used for the consoles created by Sony. Playstation Plus is part of this system except it's a service solely catering to subscribers only.
