PlayStation Plus News & Updates: October List Rumor Roundup; 'Watch Dogs' and 'Killzone: Shadow Fall' to be Included?

With the month of October only a few days away from arriving, many fans have been speculating as to what games the PlayStation Plus would be offering its members. Here, we rounded up all the popular candidates to be included in the roster.

The PlayStation Plus Program

As part of the PlayStation Plus program, Sony has had the tradition of releasing high quality games to its subscribers for free. The company usually releases six titles monthly, two each for the PlayStation 4, the PlayStation 3, and the PS Vita. It somehow directly competes with Microsoft's similar offering through its Xbox Live Games with Gold service.

Although Sony is yet to make an official statement revealing the games, fans have formed their own theories on what titles would be included for the October list. Surprisingly, the roster includes realistic expectations with top-notch quality titles.

Possible October List

There have been reports that "Killzone: Shadow Fall" and "Watch Dogs" are set to appear in the October list of the PlayStation Plus. It is noteworthy that these two have also been previously rumored to be included in the September list but were ultimately ditched.

However, this time around, the inclusion of "Watch Dogs" would actually make perfect sense as its sequel would be released in November. This would be a great marketing campaign for game developer Ubisoft to refresh the lineup and effectively widen its audience.

Meanwhile, the other first person shooter game "Killzone: Shadow Fall," has been around for quite a while now. It had been previously released to the PlayStation 4 back in 2013. This means that including the sixth installment of the "Killzone" franchise to the October lineup would essentially revive the game's following and pique new players' interests.

There have also been reports that the horror survival video game "The Evil Within" would make an appearance. The hit video game, also known as "Psycho Break" in the Japanese region, was released back in 2014 and was received well both by the market and by critics.

Aside from these frontrunners, huge video game titles are also anticipated by the fans of the PlayStation Plus Program for October. There's the action adventure game "Gravity Rush Remastered," along with the hit installment to the popular game franchise "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag."

There are also talks of the role playing game "Nights of Azure," the action ninja game "Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus," and the fighting game "BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend." These titles are playable through Sony's different gaming consoles.

Sony has not released an official statement confirming any of these games. However, the company is expected to reveal the list for the PlayStation Plus shortly as October will be arriving very soon.
