'Pokémon GO' 0.59.2 Update: Game Lag, Other Issues Remain
Niantic Labs has just released an update to the Android version of its 2016 smash hit "Pokémon GO," right after the closing hours of the Water Festival. The new update, however, is not a big hit for some players who are now currently experiencing some serious issues with the game that has come up with the release of "Pokémon GO" 0.59.2.
Niantic has announced via a Twitter post that the Android version of "Pokémon GO" will be bumped up to version 0.59.2 for some minor bug fixes. The announcement was made last Wednesday, on March 29.
"Pokémon GO" trainers eyed the new update anxiously, hoping that the new update will fix the troublesome issues that have been plaguing the augmented reality game recently. Players who have responded to the announcement linked to Reddit have mentioned issues such as lag at the gyms, Pokémon sighting alerts that yield no Pokémon, and overall performance problems.

The new update, however, looks to have little to no effect on the existing issues with the game, as players claim. Reddit user JigglyBud noted that the gym-lag situation has not improved. "Just back from the gym run. Apparently it's NOT fixed, neither is the lag, network error or crash after the battle," the trainer said.
The lag problem has also compounded some of the balance issues even after the new update, according to Reddit user Zashitniki: "This bug is not only significantly causing gym stagnation, it is now being abused by spoofers that stopped putting Body Slam Snorlax into gyms and its only Hyperbeam now for 3000+ CP ... It had been fixed for a while but now with the added lag it is back. Because of the bug, Hyperbeam Snorlax is now the best defender in the game bar none," Zashitniki complained.
Another user has been quoted by the International Business Times as saying that the update could break the game entirely. "Please don't install!!! I can no longer access game after update ... Getting 'failed to get game data from server' error now," user MalleeBytes claimed.
