'Pokemon GO' Developer Teases Plans For Next AR Title

The developer of the widely popular "Pokemon GO" game reportedly teased that they are working on the next augmented reality (AR) game.

During the TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco event, Niantic CTO Phil Keslin revealed that they already have a plan to continue the success of the game studio after the overwhelming performance of "Pokemon Go" after its release in 2016.

According to Keslin, the new game will have an audio support to enhance the AR experience.

"I think audio is significant. It's one of our senses. It's one of [the] things that really drives us. I want to look at ways to incorporate audio in future titles. AR is not just visual," he stated in front of the audience as reported by Game Rant.

The game developer also hinted that they are planning to lessen the time that users had to look down on their mobile phones while engaged in AR games. Keslin claimed that "Pokemon GO" players will no longer have to walk all over the place with their phones since they will only have to use it to share their Pokemon encounter by taking just one picture.

This could mean that the audio cues that will be introduced in the company's next AR game will be a very useful feature since it can allow players to simply wait for an audio alert to help them determine that they are already near a Pokemon, a Gym, or a PokeStop.

On the other hand, Niantic's CEO John Hanke also talked in front of the developers who attended the Austin Game Conference this week to discuss the company's plans for more contents.

According to Hanke, gamers should wait for a major announcement that will be revealed soon.

"We have another big launch planned for later this year," he stated in front of his audience as reported by Rolling Stone. He also mentioned that there will be several major updates that will be released in a quarterly pattern.
