'Pokémon GO' Gen 1 to Gen 2 Evolution Chart: Rare Pokémon Hatch Rates

Getting a rare Gen 2 Pokémon in "Pokémon GO can become a bit of a challenge, but one of the easiest ways players can snag one is by hatching eggs.

Of course, doing so will take some work. Trainers will have to walk a certain distance to hatch an egg. For bigger chances of getting a rare Gen 2 Pokémon, however, they will have to walk 5 kilometers.

This is what a Redditor by the name Topottsel suggested in a "Pokémon GO" rarity chart he provided on Reddit to set the expectations of players at the end of their walks in the name of egg hatching.

The rarest Gen 2 Pokémon that players can hatch by walking 5 km are Yanma, Wobbuffet, Girafarig, Sneasel, Dunsparce and Shuckle, all of which have a 0.62 percent chance of hatching.

The likes of Wooper, Phanpy and Natu have higher probability of hatching (at 4.07 percent) in "Pokémon GO" after a 5 km walk.

Stantler, Smoochum, Elekid, Tyrogue and Magby could be the Pokémon awaiting fans at the end of their 5 km marathon, the chances of which happening is 2.48 percent.

In a 2 km walk, "Pokémon GO" players can count on the 3.48 percent chance of hatching Togepi, Igglybuff, Aipon, Cleffa, Pichu and Slugma. There is a 1.48 percent possibility that it turns out to be Remoraid.

For those who want to risk walking 10 km in the hopes of getting a Gen 2 Pokémon, the rarest they could hatch in "Pokémon GO" are Miltank and Skarmory with a 2.57 percent (that is one in 39 eggs).

There is a bigger chance (5.13 percent) of scoring Mareep or Sudowoodo. At 10.26 percent or one in 9.75 eggs, "Pokémon GO" players might get Mantine, Gligar or Larvitar. The likeliest Gen 2 Pokémon that gamers can get at the end of the 10 km walk is Pineco at 20.51 percent.

To the disappointment of some fans, there is a bunch of Gen 2 Pokémon from the Johto region that they will not be able to get by hatching an egg, 16 to be exact. Some of which include Chikorita, Spinarak, Marill and Totodile.

The likes of Magikarp and Meowth can no longer be obtained by egg-hatching in "Pokémon GO." Players can check out the complete list here.
