'Pokémon Go' Rumors: Several Data Mining Finds Point to Upcoming Reveal of Gen 3 Creatures

Sound files and placeholder movesets for Gen 3 Pokémon discovered

Gen 3 Pokémon are not live inside "Pokémon Go" just yet, but the latest data mining finds are hinting that will change very soon.

First off, there was a post from "dronpes" on the r/TheSilphRoad subreddit that caught the attention of players as it indicated that developers were now doing new things related to the Gen 3 Pokémon. According to the post, sound files for the still unreleased Pokémon were added just recently.

Things did not stop there, however.

A separate post from "prodigion" on the same subreddit revealed that the "GAME_MASTER" file had been extracted, and upon doing so, new creatures were discovered. These new creatures even came with movesets.

These new movesets are widely expected to just be placeholders, however, mainly because not all Gen 3 creatures will have similar "Splash" and "Struggle" abilities.

Still, even if the correct moves have not been added just yet, simply having those placeholders is a positive sign for "Pokémon Go" players who really want to see the new creatures.

Beyond the sound files and the placeholder movesets, there were still other things found recently by data-miners that seem to be clear indicators that the new Pokémon are coming.

Yet another post on the same Subreddit, this one coming from "Chrales," revealed that the male/female ratios for the Gen 3 Pokémon have also been seen in the files.

The groundwork has certainly been laid for the arrival of the new Pokémon, and developers may just need to apply some finishing touches before they are all unveiled.

At this point, it is still unclear when the new creatures will finally be introduced, though there are rumors hinting that they may be added at the same time that the Halloween event goes live.

Developers have yet to comment on whether or not Gen 3 Pokémon are coming soon to "Pokémon Go," though there is a chance that may be the case because it looks like they are already planning their big announcement.
