Pokémon Super Bowl Commercial News: Company Celebrates 20 Years in the Industry

Before the big game on Feb. 7, Pokémon has released a new ad as part of the Super Bowl 50 broadcast. Aside from its collaboration with the National Football League, the commercial is also a heads-up for fans as the 20th anniversary of the franchise draws near.

In the commercial, people from around the world — from children to young adults — are inspired to "Train On," and before the ad ends, a final trainer lands on a football field with Pokémon all around and fans cheering.

Aside from the famed Pikachu, Charizard and other favorites have their brief appearances to remind fans to tune in on Feb. 27 when the franchise turns 20. "I can do that" is the statement that makes the ad a success as it is the basic drive that people need to pave the way for success.

As part of its anniversary, Nintendo will be re-launching a 3DS Virtual console of the original Game Boy favorites: Red, Blue, and Yellow — a treat to the elder gamers who have known the meat of the games since day one.

It doesn't stop there. The Pokémon Company will be allowing players to download some rare Pokémon for in-game adventures to further celebrate the loyalty of fans that allowed for the franchise to hit 20.

While the ad to be broadcast on Feb. 7 will only run for 30 seconds, the extended version is considered a sweet treat for fans all around the world to get inspired with.

Rumor has it that the company had to dish around $10 million for the ad to be completed and it isn't a surprise since anyone who will see the ad can immediately conclude that it was worth the millions.

For those who would like to see the ad in huge screens and with people all around chanting for the most exciting championships in sports history, it is recommended to drop by Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 7.
