Pokemon X and Y Spin-Off 'Art Academy' Announced for Digital Download June 19

A Pokemon X and Y spin-off game titled Art Academy will be available for digital download in Japan on Nintendo 3DS starting June 19.

A trailer for the game launched earlier this week and it basically shows a game that allows players to create high quality fan art. It starts out with tracing exercises and moves up to more advanced drawing and painting.

There should be more information released on Art Academy in the coming months and U.S. release should follow shortly after the initial Japan launch. E3 might be the place where that information is revealed.

Fans of the Pokemon X and Y games will be excited to hear that toys based the series will hit McDonalds sometime in the very near future.

They will be a part of Pokemon X and Y themed meals that will come with related accessories including a TCG card and one of 12 toys based on characters in the game including Pikachu, Venusaur, Servine, Pignite, Axew, Dewott, Blastoise, Woobat, Xerneas and Charizard.

A previous report from KPopStarz reveals that the Pokemon X and Y Diancie distribution event will start on July 19 in Japan. It will take place on the same day that the movie based on Pokemon X and Y 'Diancie & the Cocoon of Destruction' opens in theaters. The distribution event will last until Sept. 30. Anyone who purchases a ticket for the film will receive the pocket monster.

Diancie was featured in the latest issue of Coro Coro magazine. The publication was the original source to reveal this information.

This Pokemon was leaked by a hacker with two other creatures earlier this year. He comes with a level of 50 in addition to a normal gem item. It has a variety of moves including Diamond Storm, Moonblast, Reflect and Return.
