It was an honorable send-off for a good friend and fellow law enforcer of the canine persuasion.

Members of the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office bid their final farewells to a beloved narcotics detector K-9, Argo.

Born in 2006 in the Czech Republic, Argo had been battling bone cancer for some time, however the battle was becoming too much for the heroic creature.

On the verge of being put down, police, who the dog had worked alongside on the front lines of the war against illegal drugs, give him a final send-off.

As he lay with a sheet covering him, before drawing his final breaths, Argo gets to hear his final police call.

Originally posted last week on the Facebook page of the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office — where it received over 12,000 likes and approximately 10,000 shares — the video has also made its way to YouTube.

In addition to his last call, Argo also receives some final signs of affection. Policemen struggle to maintain their composure, and so will you.
