Porn Actor and Canadian Body Parts Case: Actor Sought for Killing, Dismembering Peer

Luka Magnotta has been named a suspect in the gruesome case of mailed body parts in Canada. As police investigate, Magnotta's past seems to point to a methodical plan of killing, dismembering, and mailing body parts throughout the country.

In 2009, Magnotta penned an online article entitled "How to Completely Disappear and Never Be Found," which provides instructions on how to erase one's identity. The same article, it is believed, points to the idea that Magnotta has taken his own advice and disappeared, after learning that police were onto him.

Though officials refuse to publicly comment on what led them to investigate Magnotta, at least one person anonymously told the Associated Press that Magnotta had posted a video online of him killing and dismembering a body. Other even more gruesome and terrifying things were also done with the body.

On Tuesday, police discovered a human torso behind Magnotta's building; a foot was later found in a package delivered to Conservative headquarters; and a hand was similarly sent to Liberal headquarters. Testing shows that all three body parts belong to the same person.

"For most of the officers that were there [in Magnotta's apartment] all night long, this is the kind of crime scene they've never seen in their career," Montreal Police Commander Ian Lafreniere told the AP. Police were shocked to discover the blood-soaked apartment in which Magnotta lived.

"As a father, I would have trouble sleeping at night knowing that the suspect was in my neighborhood," Lafreniere added.

The case has brought international attention, especially in light of the gruesome cannibalistic actions of a man in Florida, who chewed off the face of another homeless man before being shot 12 times by police.

Rudy Eugene was high on "bath salts," a drug that causes delirium and high fever when he attacked Ronald Poppo. Poppo lost most of his face but is still fighting for his life.
