Porsha Stewart Marriage Counselor Reacts To Divorce

Dr. Sherry Blake, the clinical psychologist who publicly counseled reality television star Porsha Stewart and her estranged former NFL player husband Kordell Stewart, is speaking up about the dissolved marriage.

The Stewarts appeared on season five of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" where they consulted Blake for marital counseling. After news of Kordell filing for divorce made headlines, Blake said she was not shocked.

"No, I'm not surprised. I guess what surprised me and I think is very disappointing is the way it was done in terms of her finding out," Blake told thejasminebrand.com recently. "As you know and the media know, she found out through social media. And I don't care if it was Porsha and Kordell or if it's Joe Blow and someone on the street, that's sort of rough to find out that your spouse filed through social media."

The ordeal was disappointing to the clinical psychologist who has worked with a multitude of celebrity clientele.

"I was disappointed," she told thejasminebrand.com. "Nothing surprises me!"

Porsha, the granddaughter of civil-rights leader Hosea Williams, was reportedly shocked by the news and the way it was delivered.

"Mrs. Stewart is disappointed about her husband's recent filing for divorce. Mrs Stewart held off on filing for divorce herself and remained committed to the marriage because Mr. Stewart promised to work on the marriage with her," the estranged Mrs.Stewart's representative reportedly told OMG! Yahoo. "Instead, he misled her and she found out about the filing in the media. Mrs. Stewart hopes to resolve these personal issues privately with the support of her family, friends and strong faith."

Porsha has been vocal about leaning on her faith even days after finding out the shocking news on Twitter last March.

"Difficult moments, seek God. Quiet moments, worship God," Porsha shared on Instagram last March. "Painful moments, trust God. Every moment, thank God."
