Possible Story Leak for 'Star Wars Episode 8': Is Rey the Choosen One?

Rey and Luke May Delve Into the Secret Origins of the Force in Episode 8

While there is still at least another year before the release of the next installment in the "Star Wars" franchise, that has not stopped the rumors from already starting. The cliffhanger of "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" shows Rey attempting to give back the Skywalker lightsaber back to the Jedi Master. The scene gives viewers an awesome shot of the first Jedi Temple before cutting to the end credits.

So at this point it is safe to assume that Luke and Rey will be spending a lot of time together in the next film.

The Leaked information

The leaked information claims that while about to begin the training of Rey, Luke reveals the true origin of the force and the formation of the Jedi Order.

According to the myth, a boy and a girl were playing near a tree. The boy had noticed that he became stronger when he was near the tree. However, his sister noticed that he also became angrier the more time he spent near the tree. The boy eventually touches the tree, kills his family and leaves the planet for good.

The girl somehow survives, being transformed by the tree as well, and then begins the Jedi order. The girl also prophesies that she will be reborn in the force one day and this person, boy or girl, will return and bring balance to the force.

What Does this Mean for Rey?

Luke states that the Jedi were deceived before when they thought that his father, Anakin Skywalker, was the chosen one of the prophecy. Luke identifies that Rey is very strong with the Force and that he would want to train her.

This could mean that Rey is the chosen one of from the prophecy of the Jedi. However, fans still do not know who Rey's family or father is. The most popular rumor is that Rey is Luke's daughter and that she is in fact a Skywalker as it is never revealed what the character's last name is.

Rey has shown great potential for the force in episode 7 with little or no training on how to use her powers. So it is not much of stretch that she could be the chosen one of the prophecy.

But similarly to episode 7 details for almost anything related to episode 8 is being closely guarded by the studio, so fans will have to wait for it on Dec. 15, 2017.
