Pray & Act: A Martin Luther King Jr. Day Service for Peace and Justice

Following a weekend of scheduled anti-war events and activity, people of faith will unite to pray for a peaceful alternative to war - then join in a candlelight procession to the White House.

WHAT: Service focused on the link between war and poverty and on preventing poor people -- especially children -- from becoming the first casualties of war. Martin Luther King Jr.’s last Sunday sermon-four days before his death - was on March 31, 1968, at the National Cathedral: “We are challenged to rid our nation and the world of poverty, we must find an alternative to war and bloodshed”

WHEN: Monday, January 20, 2003 - 2:30 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.
