Jessica Simpson may have unintentionally revealed the sex of her baby after she was spotted buying a number of feminine baby items during a recent shopping trip.
"Jessica and her mom (Tina Simpson) and spent over an hour at the store. She took her time picking out the perfect baby items," a source observer told People Magazine.
"She seems beyond happy about becoming a mom. She says she can't wait to meet the baby," the observer added.
The 31-year-old entrepreneur is expecting her first child with fiancé Eric Johnson, an ex-NFL player.
According to sources the couple, who postponed their Nov. 11 wedding due the unexpected pregnancy, learned the sex of their baby in December, but have kept it private.
Simpson, who is far along in the pregnancy, has previously spoken about entering motherhood and even predicted that she would give birth to a baby girl, although Johnson, 32, was initially convinced that it was a baby boy.

"I think it's a girl," Simpson told People at her clothing line launch event late last year.
"We have a couple names picked out for [if it's a boy or a girl], but we're going to keep that private," she told US Weekly.
"Pregnancy was meant for me- it really was. I can't wait to have more kids. I love being pregnant," Simpson once told the magazine.
Johnson also previously spoke about their unborn baby before they pair had learned the baby's sex.
"I think it's a boy. We're pretty much at a standstill there," Johnson once predicted.
While it is unclear when exactly Simpson is due, recent pictures have left impatient fans suspecting that the "With You" singer is now overdue and many have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on her pregnancy.
"Is Jessica Simpson giving birth to an elephant? She has been pregnant for about two yrs!!?? Anyone?" Veronica Romm tweeted.
"I feel like collectively Jennifer Garner and Jessica Simpson have been pregnant for 10 years," Jen Regen tweeted.
"Is Jessica Simpson still pregnant? I feel like Beyonce has faked at least two pregnancies by now and Jessica still hasn't had 1 baby #random," Jess Castanza tweeted.
