Pregnant Man and Fourth Child: Thomas Beatie Competes With Girlfriend to Get Pregnant (VIDEO)

Sex Change Surgery Left My Womb Intact, Says Beatie

Thomas Beatie gained notoriety four years ago after he became the first man to ever become pregnant. Now, after three kids and one divorce, the infamous pregnant man has stated that he is ready to have more children.

Thomas Beatie's marriage to his former wife, with whom he has three children, came to an end earlier this year. Beatie, who lives in Arizona, gave birth to all three of his children in his previous marriage; Susan, 4, Austin, 3, and Jensen, 2.

But after meeting his new girlfriend, Amber Nicholas, Beatie stated in an interview with the Daily Mirror that he is ready to have more kids. This time, however, it could be his girlfriend who will be giving birth to the couple's potential new child.

"Being pregnant was the most incredible experience, but we want Amber to do it this time around," he told the publication. "I think it would be amazing to experience pregnancy as the father."

Beatie had a sex change operation 15 years ago, but at the time, he opted to keep his womb intact, which allowed him to have children later on.

"Amber and I are totally smitten. We would love kids together and we're already discussing it," Beatie said. "I would love another girl so I have two of each. But any kid is a blessing."

Despite more recent work to complete his sex change in February, Beatie is still able to get pregnant and has stated that he would be willing to step in if necessary.

"It's just about which one of us would be more successful at having a baby," explained Beatie. "It's even possible we could both be pregnant at the same time. Amber suggested we both try to get pregnant and whoever gets there first goes through with it."

But despite the possibilities, even Beatie's doctors have cautioned against him getting pregnant following the second surgery.

"My surgeon has advised against me getting pregnant because it would be a lot harder now I'm biologically a man," Beatie admitted. "I would have to have a caesarian, but I'd willingly do it to have another bundle of joy."
