Presidential Debate 2012 Live Stream: Watch Final Obama-Romney Face-Off

October 22, 2012|7:11 pm

The final presidential debate between President Barack Obama and GOP candidate Mitt Romney takes place tonight at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla. The debate begins at 9 p.m. ET and can be viewed live through the player below.

The focus of the debate tonight is foreign policy and with national polls having been influenced by the first two presidential debates, pressure is on the two candidates to draw undecided voters.

A new poll by Washington Post-ABC, released Monday, revealed that Obama is leading just one percentage point among likely voters (49 percent). Taking into account the margin of error, they are effectively tied.

Notably, Romney has gained more voters when it comes to the issue of terrorism. After holding an 11-point lead over Romney in September, Obama now is only ahead by one percentage point (47 to 46 percent).

Libya is expected to be a big topic in tonight's debate. The question many are asking is why the Obama administration gave the impression that the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, that killed four Americans were primarily the result of an anti-Islam video.

"This is Exhibit A of a failed foreign policy," said Sen. Lindsay Graham on Fox News Sunday. "Al-Qaida is alive and well in Libya, Iraq, Syria and the wars are not receding.

"And what happened in Benghazi is a case study in failure at every phase, before, during, and after. And what they did after the attack, I think is just absolutely unacceptable. They tried to confuse, delay and deny. Create a narrative this was a spontaneous event when it was not, because the truth of the matter is, the Benghazi, Libya conflict was a death trap long in the making. And this is failed presidential leadership at its worst."

Romney has also been criticized for making comments immediately after the Benghazi attack.

Other talking points tonight include the war in Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, the changing Middle East and the rise of China.

Moderating the debate will be Bob Schieffer, host of "Face the Nation" on CBS.
