'Pretty Little Liars' Cast News, Update: Lucy Hale Leaving Show? Rumors Debunked

Actress Lucy Hale, who plays the fan favorite character Aria Montgomery in ABC Family's hit teen drama TV series "Pretty Little Liars" Season 6, recently appeared for a photo shoot with a magazine where she revealed a disturbing detail about her involvement with the show.

Hale, who appeared since the debut of the scripted program, told V Magazine that after five and a half seasons, there would only be one more left for her to be on the show.

"l'll be done next October with [Pretty Little Liars] forever, which is exciting, but also scary at the same time because it's the next chapter of my life and so I'm really looking forward to exploring different and darker roles," she told the publication.

The statement sparked rumors indicating that the 26-year-old star will leave the show after Season 6, which contrasts what series creator Marlene King told E! about her plans for additional seasons and even a movie with Aria (Hale) in it.

"That's always been the ultimate goal, is that it ends its life in one medium and starts another life on film. I love that," the executive producer said.

To ultimately clear out the confusion, Hale went to her social media to say the following:

"Just to clarify ... I am not leaving PLL!! All these rumours. I'm with the show until the 7th and last season."

Hale and the rest of the series' main cast members are currently filming "Pretty Little Liars" Season 6B, which is slated to air in early 2016.

The seventh, which has been reported to be the show's final season, is meanwhile expected to premiere later in 2016.
