'Princess Diaries 3' News: Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews Discuss Sequel with Director

Just when fans of the "Princess Diaries" franchise started losing hope for a third film, it was revealed that director Garry Marshall actually had a conversation with Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews about the much-anticipated film.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Marshall said in a recent interview on Larry King Now, "[Anne Hathaway] came to my office, she was quite pregnant...she puts her computer on the table, pushes three buttons, there's Julie Andrews on Skype in Long Island. And we have a meeting."

Hathaway sure knows how to start a conversation about a movie that she has reportedly been wanting to do for a long time. It turns out that Hathaway and Andrews aren't the only ones who have been wishing to make their comeback in the franchise.

In one of his talks with Glamour, Robert Schwartzman, who played Michael in the movie, expressed his desire to discuss with Disney and production about the rumored sequel. "It'd be cool to at least have the conversation about it if they want to do it," he said, referring to his character and how it will be injected into the storyline.

It should be noted that Schwartzman wasn't in the second film and Cosmopolitan suggests that his remarks might have been alluding to his character not being included in the sequel. As fans know, Michael is Mia's (Hathaway) first kiss and first love before everything in her life changed completely.

Meanwhile, fans are also looking forward to Andrews' return to the big screen as Mia's royal and ever-so-elegant grandmother. According to Cinema Blend, she has been busy as a voice actress over the past years and it would be great to see her in "Princess Diaries 3."

While there are no official announcements made by Disney regarding the said return of Mia and her royal entourage, it is expected that a third movie will attract a lot of viewers - not only those who are looking forward to that nostalgic feeling but also those who have been curious about the story ever since the rumors emerged.
