'Prison Break' Season 5 Spoilers: Michael Scofield Resurrects from the Dead

"Prison Break" season 5 is bound to deliver a shocking twist in the form of Michael Scofield's return from the dead, lead actor Wentworth Miller revealed.

In an interview with the "Today Show" on NBC, Miller shared a few things that fans can look forward to in "Prison Break" season 5. Although he has not exactly revealed how his character will come back from the dead, he said he feels privileged to reprise the role because he never thought he would come back to the show after it ended in 2009, according to the Parent Herald.

When Fox first announced that "Prison Break" will come back for season 5, fans became very excited. Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell will still play their roles as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, respectively.

"I think a lot of the fans are really excited to see where these characters are now — especially mine as my character died twice at the end of the original," Miller said in the interview.

It can be recalled that Scofield died at the end of the "Prison Break" movie. Since season 5 will take place after season 4 and before the events in the movie happened, Miller's character will be in the story, the report explains.

Scofield's return from the dead will be presented in a unique way, but the exact manner of that event is still unknown. Earlier rumors said he may have faked his brain tumor, but network executives had already shut down that idea.

As of now, the crew is focused on making the schedules of the lead stars meet so that they can finish filming. Due to tight schedules, production of the series has been delayed, Movie News Guide reports.

Miller and Purcess apparently are busy with their roles in "Legends of Tomorrow." Sarah Wayne Callies, who plays Dr. Sara Tancredi in "Prison Break," also has her hands full with her new show "Colony."

There is still no fixed premiere date for "Prison Break" season 5, but it may be released in the second half of 2017. The FOX series is scheduled to run for 10 episodes.
