PS4 vs. Xbox One Comparison, Which to Buy? Which is Better Console?

Though some of us might already had a choice which console to choose, others are still confused whether it's Sony's PS4 or Microsoft's Xbox One they're going to put in their Christmas wish list. Luckily, there are gaming gurus out there that are willing to give us a clearer view on which is the better console to add to your entertainment system.

Price

Both consoles cost exactly the same price, but the XBox One with Kinect costs $100 more. Other specs are important as well, though.

Hardware
Hardware-wise, both consoles have 8-core AMD CPUs under the hood with 8GB of memory, 500 GB internal hardrives, and Blu-ray optical drives. The two have their own distinct architectures and operating systems, but the PlayStation 4 edges out the XBox One in terms of hardware.

Gaming Controls
The Xbox One controller has not changed much since its predecessor the XBox 360. The PS4 is the ultimate winner here with their small update, the touchpad.

"The analog sticks feel better, the triggers are more responsive, and the controller just feels nicer in the hand. It even features a built-in speaker and a potentially useful but so far underutilized touchpad in the middle," PCMag reported.

Many have reported that Sony's design, which has been relatively unchanged since the first PlayStation console in the 1990s, is more comfortable to the average gamer.

Game and Exclusive Offerings
Forgetting about the specs for a moment, the look and feel, and everything in between, perhaps the most definitive difference between the two consoles are the games they are offering. Though many of the upcoming games were made available for both, there's still a few notable exclusive offerings that you might want to consider.

Xbox One has Killer Instinct, Titanfall, Deadrising 3, and Forza 5. Future exclusive titles are Halo 5:Guardians (2015), Halo: The Master Chief Collection (November), Project Spark, and Sunset Overdrive.

PS4's current exclusives are Killzone: Shadowfall, Infamous:Second Son. Upcoming favorites would be Little Big Planet 3 (November), Uncharted 4 (2015), Bloodborne (2015), and The Order 1886 (2015).

Which of the two has the better game line-up is purely up to you.

Top Reasons to Pick

PlayStation 4 – "smaller size, has a remote play for PS Vita, doesn't have a separate power brick, and the PS Plus free games plan is a PLUS," TrustedReviews wrote. It also can be used for entertainment purposes.

Xbox One – "sturdier design, has Kinect that is perfect for those who are up for motion gamings, and the console can be used as an entertainment hub," the site added.

Final Verdict

The final judgment really falls into your hands. Whether you are up for "The People's Favorite" (PS4) or for the more well-rounded Xbox, it will all be decided on which individual aspect would suit well to your personal preferences.
