PS5, Xbox Two Release News: Virtual Reality, 'Dynamic, Interactive Worlds' Feature In 2nd-Gen Consoles

Multiple reports are already discussing possible features for next-generation consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two. Virtual reality and "dynamic, interactive worlds" are some of the features that industry followers believe could come to these second-generation gaming devices.

PS5 to feature "far more dynamic, interactive worlds"

Those in the gaming community who are looking forward to playing Sony's next-generation console might be in for a more immersive experience. Paul Ross, chief technical officer at Three Fields Entertainment, revealed what a PS5 game will look like during an interview published in EDGE magazine's March 2016 issue.

"So what does a PS5 game look like?," Ross told EDGE. "With PS4 we've seen some fidelity put into the worlds, but PS5's going to be about more dynamic worlds, far more interactive worlds that are more believable in the way they behave."

Sony has indicated in the past that the future console depends on the hands of video game developers. Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida stated back in April that game creators' demand will be the determining factor on whether the company will create a new console or not.

Xbox Two to feature VR?

On Microsoft's front, a new report is saying that the next Xbox console will have virtual reality. According to Value Walk, VR will be significant for the Xbox Two's success by providing better gaming experience and changing the market's perception about Xbox consoles.

However, the addition of VR as a feature will ultimately depend on consumer response to current and upcoming VR devices. In a few months' time, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift will start shipping, and it is expected that both Microsoft and Sony will monitor the market's response, in order to determine how VR should be prioritized.

Head of Microsoft Studios Phil Spencer previously said that he expects to see another console will be released by the company in the future, as he's "100 percent committed" to keeping the Xbox One community engaged. No other details have been provided about the Xbox Two so far. Fans will have to wait for future announcements from Microsoft regarding development, features, and release information.

PS5 and Xbox Two could release in three to four year's time, according to a prediction made by Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter last month. Pachter's record has been hit and miss, so readers should take his word with a grain of salt.
