'Ray Donovan' Season 4 News: What Will 'Ray Donovan' Season 4 Bring?

Details about the upcoming fourth season of "Ray Donovan" have been few, and fans wonder what the upcoming season will bring.

The announcement of "Ray Donovan's" renewal was made last August, even before the third season has ended. The early renewal made fans look forward to the new season and to what it will bring. TV Line said that the show's network, Showtime, confirmed there will be 12 episodes for season 4, and filming will start early this year.

According to Enstars, viewers may possibly see more of Terry (Eddie Marsan) and Abby (Paula Malcomson), especially after what happened last season. Fans know that the two are heavily flirtatious with each other during the third season, and many are curious if this will fully develop in season 4.

Unfortunately, David Hollander, "Ray Donovan's" executive producer and showrunner, told TV Line that the two's relationship won't go forward. Hollander said that even if both Abby and Terry have feelings for each other, Terry's morals will still prevail. "Terry is not going to steal Abby from Ray," the EP said. According to him, Terry was just providing love and comfort to Abby, so it will not be a love triangle between him, Abby, and Ray (Live Schreiber). "He will always regret [kissing her]." Hollander added.

Another thing that fans are wondering about is the fate of Ray's dad in season 4. When the outlet asked Hollander about what's next for Mickey Donovan (Jon Voight), he said that he is still part of the show. "Mickey always wakes up in a new place, and that place feels permanent until it's not. Boston. Mexico. North Hollywood," Hollander said. He said that there's always a pull to bring Mickey back, so fans might see him next season "back into the heart of Donovan land."

There is still no confirmed premiere date for "Ray Donovan" season 4.
