'Ray Donovan' Season 5 Cast News: Three Names Added to Roster

The cast of "Ray Donovan" season 5 is getting bigger with three new names joining the roster. Adina Porter, Brian White and Lili Simmons have all been tapped for multiple episodes in the upcoming season.

The news comes exclusively from The Hollywood Reporter, which also provided details on the characters each actor will be playing. Porter will be portraying Vicky Delgatti, who is also a fixer. White, on the other hand, will play a rapper-actor-producer named Jay, who is a huge celebrity. Both Porter and White will appear in a minimum of four episodes.

Finally, Simmons will have more of a recurring role as Natalie James, a young and beautiful actress who is, like Jay, a celebrity. Natalie is the star of a renowned film franchise and her story arc will span the whole season.

As for the plot of the new installment, showrunner David Hollander teased a few details while speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in a September 2016 interview following the conclusion of season 4. "It's a different kind of beginning because the characters have changed, but my focus is very much on Ray working in Hollywood and with his family in Hollywood," he revealed.

Hollander also talked about a possible end to the show and how that would look. While he did not give out anything specific, he did say that "Ray Donovan" will not close with the death of the titular character. However, he is approaching the storytelling in a way that puts quality above everything else, focusing mainly on the upcoming season as opposed to the end.

"My first priority is to dream up a really gorgeous year five, to make sure it delivers a show that, should it live for a sixth, seventh or eighth season, will be satisfying to the audience and artists," Hollander says in the September interview.

"Ray Donovan" season 5 will consist of 12 episodes, with production beginning this year.
