Singers Whitney Houston and Ray J were often connected by media sources over recent years, and his name has again come up in numerous reports in the aftermath of Houston's untimely death Saturday afternoon.
Houston will be forever known for her troubled relationship with ex-husband and singer Bobby Brown, and how their 14 year marriage was blighted by drugs, physical abuse and alcohol.
Ray J's name was also often seen in the media, especially following his notorious and brief relationship with reality TV star Kim Kardashian. He was also known for his own reality TV trysts on "For The Love of Ray J."
However, over recent years Houston and Ray J grew increasingly close.
Around 2007 rumors hit that the two were in a relationship despite their 17 year age difference.
The pair were also seen at celebrity events such as Jay-Z and LeBron James' All-Star game party, as well as sharing romantic dinners. For the next few years media reports documented their on-off relationship, and also related both to their exes. However, the couple seemingly remained connected throughout all those rumors.
They were undoubtedly close, and were spotted dining together as recently as Feb. 3, 2012 at Le Petit Four on Sunset Boulevard. Whether the pair had rekindled their relationship prior to her death is not entirely known, however, even in the aftermath of her tragic death he was immediately touted as being one of the first to find out, and is said to be devastated at the unfolding of events. Saturday evening many media sources were stating that it was in fact Ray J who had found Houston's body in the bath tub in a 4th floor hotel room at the Beverly Hilton. However, his people have since refuted those claims.
