And looking at their earlier battle, Barcelona handled their business to win 4-0 at Camp Nou.
During that game, Betis drew first blood by scoring a goal but it was on the wrong side of the pitch as Heiko Westermann scored an own goal in the 29th minute.
Four minutes later, Lionel Messi broke down the defence to score thanks to an assist from Neymar to double the lead.
In the second half, it was the Luis Suarez show as the Uruguayan scored in the 46th and 83rd minute to put the lead up to 4-0 and notch maximum points for Barcelona.
However, at this point, there is so much more pressure for Barcelona to win as they have squandered their lead to be in a neck-and-neck race with Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.
At the moment, the only thing keeping Barcelona at the top spot is their superior goal difference.
They are at 82 points after 35 games, with a +73 goal difference. Hot on their heels are Atletico with 82 points and +43 in goal difference.
One point behind are the Los Blancos and the two teams below the Catalans are hoping that these lower teams can get at least a point against Barcelona to see them drop in the standings.
After this, Barcelona still have Espanyol and Granada who are 15th and 18th, respectively. This clash against Betis could be the closest to a challenge they have.
