Brandi Glanville's plans to become an official housewife in the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" have reportedly been crushed by ex-husband Eddie Cibrian and his new wife Leann Rimes after the pair refused to allow her children on the show.

The Bravo network, which airs the reality TV show, offered Glanville a position as a fully fledged housewife, but as soon as Cibrian- who had an affair with Rimes while still married to Glanville- found out about it, both he and Rimes objected and consequently ruined the deal, according to Radar Online.

"Bravo wanted [Brandi] to have her kids on the show in order to expand story lines. But Leann and Eddie wouldn't allow it," a source told Radar.

"Brandi didn't expect that LeAnn and Eddie would have objections since the kids have been on the show before, but they did. Eddie said they did not want the children on camera on a regular basis. So Bravo said that Brandi would have to stay a 'friend' and not become an official 'housewife,'" the source added.

Rimes, 29, is now a step mother to Glanville's two sons Jake and Mason, and is often criticized for referring to the children as "like her own" with some critics viewing that as an attempt to rub her affair in 39-year-old Glanville's face.

"I don't think I could be shocked by anything LeAnn says or does anymore. When she has a child of her own, she'll understand how a lot of the things she says and does regarding my children can be construed as really inappropriate," Glanville told Life & Style magazine with regards to situation.

Rimes has previously spoken about her love for Glanville's sons, insisting that their best interests come first.

"We've always put his kids first. We take his kids into consideration with everything that we do," Rimes said on the "Ellen" show.

She also admitted to having an affair with Cibrian while he was still married to Glanville, and has received widespread criticism from fans ever since.

"I know I didn't do it the right way. I didn't have the tools to know how to do it the right way, how to let go the right way. I'd never been taught that," Rimes said on program "Backstory: LeAnn Rimes," which aired on the Great American Country channel.
