Former "Real Housewives of New York" star Jill Zarin may be returning for season six of the hit Bravo TV reality show following increasing calls from fans to bring her back.
Zarin, 48, made a surprising appearance on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" on Monday and the jewelry designer confronted the show's host Andy Cohen about her abrupt firing after season four. Fans flocked to social networking sites demanding that their beloved idol return to the show, which has since added three new housewives.
"Jill's appearance solidified the likelihood that she will be featured on the sixth season. Jill and Andy were even trending for a long time Monday night on Twitter. That is the kind of buzz that the network wants for the next season. Jill is a polarizing figure and she has a very, very strong personality," a source reportedly told RadarOnline.com.
"Jill is open to the idea of coming back to the show and would be willing to appear as a guest star. Viewers love to watch Jill tussle with Ramona Singer and LuAnn de Lesseps. There was no where near as much drama on the show this year, even with the addition of three new cast members after Jill, Alex McCord and Kelly Bensimon were fired," the source explained.
In a shocking and unexpected turn, Bravo executives fired Zarin, Alex McCord, Kelly Bensimon and Cindy Barshop at the end of season four to make room for Aviva Drescher, Carole Radziwill, and Heather Thomson. Zarin was asked about how she felt about being let go during Monday night's appearance.
"It felt like my funeral. I was heartbroken and I felt like [the network was] my parents and that when it was 'Bethenny [vs.] Jill,' you picked favorites," Zarin admitted during the emotionally charged confrontation. "I even felt (my dog) Ginger got it bad."
