'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' News: ABC Working on New Drama Series Based on Kyle Richards' Life

ABC network is currently working on a drama series titled "Glass Houses," which is said to be inspired by the life of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Kyle Richards.

It was Richards' upbringing that had inspired the sitcom "American Woman," starring actress Alicia Silverstone, which is set to premiere in the first quarter of 2018 on Paramount Network. Now, her real-life experiences have inspired another project.

"Glass Houses" is told from the perspective of the lead character named Anisa Shattenkirk-Glass, a "financially overextended" woman launching her own company to challenge the dominance of Dahlia, her mother-in-law and former employer, in the real estate industry.

Written by Leonard Dick, who also wrote and executive produced "The Good Wife," the potential ABC series is described as an exciting family drama set in the high-end real estate world of Los Angeles.

It will be produced by Universal Television, alongside NBC Universal International Studios and Working Title. According to Variety, Richards herself will also be executive producing the show, together with Andrew Stearn, Tim Bevan, and Eric Fellner of Working Title.

As of now, the said series does not have a release date yet, and it is still unclear when "Glass Houses" will go into production.

Further plot details are yet to be revealed as well.

On the other hand, "American Woman," which started filming its pilot last year, is said to be a more direct adaptation of Richards' childhood. It even reportedly caused some conflict with her sisters when it was given a go signal for production.

However, the reality television star also claimed that she does not plan to drag her family down just for the sitcom to become a success.

Aside from "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," Richards' TV credits include "Beverly Hills, 90210," "Fantasy Island," "ER," "Love Boat: The Next Wave," and "7th Heaven."

She also became a contestant on "The New Celebrity Apprentice."
