'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' News: Trip to Amsterdam May Prove Troublesome for Kim Richards

For every season of the reality TV show "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,' fans often see the cast going on an exotic trip. For this year, the ladies were picked up for a vacation to Amsterdam; a destination that could prove to be bothersome for one of their co-stars who is struggling with sobriety.

"RHOBH" producers chose Amsterdam to be their next destination. The bustling capital of the Netherlands, the place has already been known for its pronounced leniency on the use of illegal substances (recreational drugs) including marijuana.

Apparently, Paris Hilton's aunt, Kim Richards, has been sober for almost two years now after battling with her addiction to drugs and alcohol.

"Kim isn't thrilled about going. Being absolutely committed to her sobriety and going to a place that so many drugs are legal is bothersome for her," an insider told Radar Online. The person clarified that the issue for the 50-year-old TV personality isn't about her succumbing to the temptation.

"The main thing Kim isn't looking forward to is comments from the other ladies about her battle with alcohol and prescription drugs," the source explained.

The "RHOBH" stars are set to leave for Amsterdam in the next two weeks.

Reactions and speculations about the show's decision to grab the Euro-trip in relation to Kim Richards' abhorrence suggested that it's just "plain mean."

"Obviously the show is looking for a story to share while putting Kim Richards in the spotlight," Examiner reported. "It's just plain mean to put a human who has struggled with an addiction back into a situation that might cause stress."

Bravo's "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" is currently filming for its fifth season.
