Real Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund Soccer: Champions League Semi Final Second Leg Football

Real Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund takes place in the Champions League semi final second leg on Tuesday night, with Real having a mountain to climb following Dortmund's massive first leg victory in Germany. The game is scheduled to kick off at 2.45 p.m. ET.

Dortmund hold a big 4-1 lead from the first leg, and will be huge favorites to make the Champions League final. However, it would be wrong to write off Real completely and they can be extremely dangerous at the Bernabeu, and also have an important away goal.

That away goal means that if Real can keep a clean sheet and win 3-0 then they can go through on away goals. An early goal will be important for Real so that the flow of the game goes against the Germans from the start, and if they can snatch an early goal then it might instill some doubts in the Dortmund players.

An early goal would also bring the Bernabeu crowd to life and make the atmosphere hugely intimidating for the German team.

Meanwhile, Dortmund will be oppositely trying to slow the pace down at the start of the game and be focused on not conceding any early goals. They will hope to soak up early pressure from Real and then try and catch their Spanish counterparts on the break to snatch an away goal and wipe out that one advantage Real currently have on their side.

Robert Lewandowski scored all four goals in that first shocking first, and has meant Dortmund are likely to make their first Champions League final since 1997. In that year they beat Juventus in the final and won the trophy.

However, Real are at home and also have star player Cristiano Ronaldo fit and ready to go, and he will always pose a threat against the German team.

Real Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund is scheduled to kick off at 2.45 p.m. ET.
