For the European competition, the Los Blancos are in the final where they will meet a familiar foe in Atletico Madrid.

However, in the league, they see themselves second in the league at 87 points and are still one point behind their fierce rivals Barcelona.

In order for them to win the league, they must secure maximum points against Deportivo La Coruna and hope that Barcelona fail to register a win in their battle against Granada.

If the Catalans lose or settle for a draw, and Madrid get a win then they will end up on top of the table and win in the league.

However, losing the game paired with a win for Atletico Madrid will see them drop to third in the league as Atletico are only two points behind their neighboring rivals.

This should be a very interesting finish to the season, with smaller teams like Deportivo determining the fate of their giant rivals.

For Deportivo, they are safely in 13th place in the league and are not in the relegation zone.

This ensures that they are still going to play top flight football next season, but there should always be a hope of improving next season.

They have only won eight matches so far which is subpar, but they have been kept alive by 18 draws so far that gave them the points they need to stay afloat.

However, it is a tough position for them to ask for a win in this battle, and Madrid should get comfortable points in this battle.
