However, just hours later, a dash-cam video of the actress' arrest was leaked to the press and posted by TMZ, offering a rare glimpse at the Hollywood actress as she interacted with a Georgia state trooper.

The 37-year-old "Legally Blonde" star is seen in a tense situation with the police officer while her husband is completing a field sobriety test.

"Do you know my name sir," Witherspoon audibly asked the police officer during the clip.

"You're about to find out who I am," she later added.

Right after the incident initially made headlines, Witherspoon issued a statement admitting error.

"Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now," the Oscar Award-winner started in a statement. "But I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said."

"It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse," the actress continued in her mea culpa. "I was disrespectful for the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I'm very sorry for my behavior."

Furthermore, on "GMA," Witherspoon admitted to "saying crazy things" to the police officer during the incident, including the false claim that she was pregnant.

The actress also noted her deep regret over the incident, citing police officers in her family and part of her daily life.

"There's so many lessons learned," Witherspoon added during the live interview on the morning show.

Witherspoon pleaded no contest to Physical Obstruction of Another and her husband Toth pleaded guilty to DUI.

According to a source close to the Hollywood couple, the dual arrests have served as "a bit of a wake up call."

"It's going to take her a long time to get over and she knows she let her family down," said a source allegedly close to Witherspoon, according to E! News.

Furthermore, the actress is "devastated" by the recent events, and is "trying to lay low and spend time with her family."
