Reese Witherspoon Hat Honors Atlanta Cops

Reese Witherspoon has displayed her respect for law enforcement with a baseball cap after she was arrested two weeks ago.

The actress and her husband Jim Toth were taken into custody for disorderly conduct and DUI, respectively, by an Atlanta police officer on April 19.

Consequently, details about Witherspoon's arrest as well as a dash-cam video of the ordeal were leaked to the press over the past weeks.

The 37-year-old "Legally Blonde" star was seen in a tense situation with the police officer while her husband completed a field sobriety test during the now-infamous video clip.

"Do you know my name sir," Witherspoon audibly asked the police officer during the arrest.

"You're about to find out who I am," she later added.

In addition to issuing a statement of apology and appearing on "Good Morning America" expressing her regret over the incident, Witherspoon has now proven her high regard for police despite her behavior during the arrest.

The Oscar Award-winner was spotted at Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday donning a baseball cap emblazoned with a "City of Atlanta Police" patch on the front.

Witherspoon was casually clad as she and her husband made their way through the airport, according to Us Weekly.

Additionally, the actress explained that her disrespectful behavior was the result of panic and police officers are not only a part of her daily life, but also a part of her family.

"It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse," the actress said during her mea culpa on "Good Morning America."

"I was disrespectful for the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I'm very sorry for my behavior," Witherspoon added.

Meanwhile, the actress and her husband are still coping with the aftermath of their brush with the law.

According to a source close to the Hollywood couple, the dual arrests have served as "a bit of a wake up call."

"It's going to take her a long time to get over and she knows she let her family down," said an insider of Witherspoon, according to E! News.

Furthermore, the actress is "devastated" by the recent events, and is "trying to lay low and spend time with her family."

Already mom to two children from her previous marriage to Ryan Philippe, Witherspoon recently welcomed her first child with Toth- a son named Tennessee James.
