Rep. Steve Cohen's Daughter Isn't His, Reveal DNA Test Results

More than three years after Steve Cohen discovered he had a long lost daughter, it has been revealed to him through DNA testing that he does not.

Cohen has explained that it was a few years ago that he decided to Google an ex-girlfriend. Results showed that his ex had given birth to a daughter just months after they had quit dating. Curious, Cohen reached out to the mother, who responded by telling Cohen that he had a 24-year-old daughter - Victoria Brink. The mother had allegedly told her daughter a year before.

Brink and Cohen decided to meet and develop a relationship, which they kept a secret until last year when they were caught tweeting during the State of the Union Address. In one tweet, Cohen told Brink that he was in love, prompting rumors that the Rep. was having an affair. Rumors forced the pair to come forward with the truth - that Brink was actually Cohen's long lost daughter.

But now in a dramatic twist, according to new DNA tests, she isn't. The test, conducted for a CNN report, reveal that the same man who raised Victoria, John Brink, is also her biological father.

"I was stunned and dismayed at the results," Cohen, 64, said in a statement after discovering the results of the test. "I still love Victoria, hold dear the time I have shared with her and hope to continue to be part of her life."

He added that the saga has been a "roller coaster ride" that taught him lessons "about parenting and some more about love, life, and heartache."

Brink has described the three-year period that she spent getting to know Cohen and then realizing that he is not her father as "overwhelming, crazy, [and] stressful" according to CNN.
