'Resident Evil 6' Movie Release Date, Spoilers: Pregnancy Caused Production Delays

It has been a year since director Paul W.S. Anderson confirmed director and writing the sixth installment of the video game-turned-movie franchise "Resident Evil." Lead actress Milla Jovovich said previously that the sequel will come out sometime in 2015. Moreover, Anderson said that the film will have a working title "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" suggesting that this will be the finale for the zombie-slaying flick.

It was initially going to be filmed at Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa last month but plans were drastically changed when Jovovich announced in her social media account that she's pregnant with her second child.

"This was originally going to be a post to tell you how excited I am about flying to Cape Town to begin working on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. But… My husband Paul and I just discovered that we are expecting another baby!!!" she wrote on her Facebook page.

"So after a lot of discussion, we thought it would be in everyone's best interest to wait till the baby is born before we set out to try and tackle an RE movie. Between the stunt work and what will become my ever-expanding belly, we didn't think pregnancy and zombie killing are the best combo," she went on to say.

"In all seriousness though, we want to make the best movie possible and that would be extremely difficult, to say the least, in my present condition," "The Fifth Element" star added.

In the last part of her statement, Milla also addressed the South African production team who had already made the necessary preparations for the production and their arrival.

Meanwhile, Daily Mail reported seeing the couple having a family outing with their first child, six-year-old Ever Gabo Anderson, at an outdoor mall in Los Angeles.

If production is pushed through, Jovovich and Li Bing Bing will reprise their roles as Alice and Ada Wong, respectively.
