Marketing director Antoine Molant explained that the "Resident Evil 7" was developed in a non-VR game perspective so they added jump scares, MCVUK wrote. That being said, "Resident Evil 7" on PlayStation VR with a whole new virtual reality experience will ultimately become scarier as a result.

Jump scares may come across as too scary and players may have issues playing "Resident Evil 7" on PS VR. However, the entire development team made sure to not expose players to any real danger when playing the game by testing it thoroughly.

Furthermore, Molant adds that "Resident Evil 7" is a survival horror game. The team is going back to the franchise's original roots which made it popular which is survival horror as they have been listening to the suggestions of core fans and gamers. "Resident Evil 7" will be released on January next year, much after the holiday seasonal sale. They explained that having a launching during Christmas will leave the game basically unfinished so they opted for next year instead.
