Rick Ross Dead? Rapper Scares Fans After Suffering Seizure Aboard Flight

While riding an airplane headed to Memphis for a concert Friday, rapper Rick Ross had a seizure that was so severe, the pilot had to perform an emergency landing. The medical emergency rocked fans, who took to the Internet to express shock. A snafu on Wikipedia even claimed that the rapper had died.

According to TMZ, Ross fell unconscious soon after takeoff after the plane departed Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and soon after went into a seizure.

His entourage immediately alerted plane personnel, who found a doctor on board the flight who administered CPR to the famous rapper. After the plane made its emergency landing, Ross was then taken to the hospital by the airport EMT crew.

Members of his entourage seemed visibly upset as the rapper was taken to a hospital nearby.

Although the seizure was serious enough to force the plane to make an emergency landing, Ross appears to be okay and has said that he will still perform in Memphis at the FedEx Forum. He has even begun tweeting again, responding to tweets wishing him well.

"Don't scare a ***** like that. Thanks," tweeted hip-hop journalist, Elliot Wilson.

Ross tweeted back: "Never dat homie."

One of Ross' friends, the rapper, Wale, then tweeted that he spoke to Ross, TMZ reported. "I just talked to Ross...he's 100 pct ok..." he tweeted.

Ross, also known as "The Bawse," is currently on tour and getting ready to release his new album, "God Forgives, I Don’t," which is due out in December. Assisting with the album is the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League’s Rook, who told Mixtape Daily that the new album is expected to be better than Ross' well-received previous efforts.

"It's funny because you think that [Ross] might've reached his peak," Rook said. "People think that they might've figured his sound out, but when they hear the new album, they're gonna be chasing that new sound."

As news broke of Ross' seizure, the rapper's entry on Wikipedia showed a death date of Oct. 14, 2011. It was later removed, however.
