Rihanna, 24-year-old chart topping Barbadian recording artist, reportedly sent text messages to Pattinson after the 26-year-old actor from the "Twighlight" movie series found out that his actress girlfriend Kristen Stewart, 22, had been unfaithful in their relationship.
"She got Rob's phone number from a mutual friend and has been sending him sexy, funny texts to cheer him up," a source told OK! magazine about the recording artist. "They've met several times at award bashes over the years. RiRi thinks he's very cute, but nothing ever came of it because he was attached to Kristen – and it's not her style to steal someone else's man."
Although the magazine reported that Pattinson's friends are encouraging him to meet the singer, the actor is reportedly showing some resistance.
"At first, Rob thought someone Punk'd him. Eventually Rihanna convinced him she was for real, but Rob has been resisting her," the source reportedly told OK! magazine. "Rihanna would love to meet up with him. And Rob's friends keep telling him he has to start enjoying life again. What better person to help cheer him up than Rihanna?"
Although Pattinson has yet to confess his love for the singer, he admitted to being a fan of Rihanna's music video, "We Found Love."
"I like Rihanna's ['We Found Love'] video as well. I like whoever directed that; it's cool," Pattinson told MTV recently. "It's got, like, good colors. It's pretty."
However, Pattinson has not been so vocal about his breakup with Stewart after she publicly admitted to having an affair with her married director from the movie "Snow White and the Huntsman." Although the "Twilight" star has remained tight-lipped about his relationship, he appeared on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" on Aug. 13 to admit that he needed a publicist.
"My biggest problem in my life is I'm cheap, and I didn't hire a publicist," Pattinson said. "I'm going to hire a publicist."
